About Carlos Espinosa Saldaña
My career in technology began in 2006, working as an IT Technician in a fast-paced call center, where I built a foundation in troubleshooting, customer service, and problem-solving under pressure. From there, I joined a technology services company contracted by major tech firms to train retail teams on new innovations — from the Oculus Rift to Google Home and home automation systems. Teaching Geek Squad and store associates how to support cutting-edge technology helped me develop one of my most valuable skills: the ability to explain complex systems in clear, simple terms.
In 2016, my path led me to the Port of Los Angeles, where I worked directly around heavy equipment, container automation, and industrial systems. Being part of that environment taught me the importance of uptime, safety, and teamwork — values that mirror the precision and reliability that companies like Kalmar and other port automation leaders represent. It was here that I learned how mechanical, electrical, and digital systems work together to keep global trade moving.
Along the way, I earned a degree in Fire Technology and completed EMT certification, training in hydraulics, pump systems, and emergency response. That experience shaped my approach to safety and diagnostics — staying calm under pressure, making decisions that protect people and operations, and never cutting corners.
Today, I specialize in bridging industrial automation and cybersecurity, blending field experience with digital control. I’m DoD 8570 compliant, CompTIA Security+ certified, and currently completing CySA+, along with an Ignition 8.1 Core Certification in industrial control systems (ICS/SCADA). My focus is to help organizations maintain safe, efficient, and cyber-secure operations across both IT and OT environments.
I believe that technology and people share one mission — to keep the world moving safely and efficiently. Whether it’s diagnosing a PLC fault, improving SCADA visibility, or protecting industrial networks from threats, I approach every challenge with precision, accountability, and pride.
With an active TWIC card, years of port automation experience, and a passion for innovation, I’m dedicated to helping modern industries evolve securely — one system at a time.
